Course Description: 

Business 100 is a fundamentals of business course with an emphasis on the soft and hard skills necessary to be successful in business. We focus on international business, entrepreneurship/small business, marketing and management, our four pillars of business. We will also touch upon economics, finance, accounting, business communication, ethics, information technology and human resources. My goal is to assist you in obtaining an understanding of business in a way that is contextual - practical and “real world.” My goal is that you experience the wonder of global business.

Textbook Information: No textbooks required. You use the online (Canvas) textbook.


Course Learning Objectives: 

 

  1. To understand and experience business in context, and to be able to remember and use those principals so as to better function in business and in
  2. To help you succeed in business, in school and in
  3. To help you understand yourself and other people
  4. To become familiar with “cutting-edge” business, finance and economic


Student Learning Objectives:  At the end of this class a student will be able to:

  1. Determine whether business is the right “meta-major” for
  2. Understand the basics of global business, entrepreneurship/small business, marketing and
  3. Understand what a “guided pathway” is and prepare a guided educational pathway for subsequent semesters to help plan for a successful
