Course Description: This course will provide students with an in-depth look into cutting edge advertising and promotion strategies used by small, medium, and large companies. Students will learn how to create an advertising campaign, including the planning, costs, and creative design process. Students will learn how promotions are used to increase sales, to build brand loyalty and to build relationship with customers.

Lynn Stewart has over 25 years of international trade, marketing and business development experience and is the Director of Business Development for California State University, Fullerton – Extension and International Programs (CSUF – EIP). She leads the development and promotion of professional and continuing education programs that meet the needs of employers, the business community and students. Lynn has overseen and continues to work closely with the Marketing and Communications department on marketing strategy, promotion efforts, digital marketing and social media campaigns as well as print material.
Prior to CSUF, Lynn served as the Director of the Orange County Center for International Trade Development where she assisted importers, exporters and foreign investors as well as globalized education and the local workforce. She has spent many years working with businesses of all industries as a trade consultant and business advisor for the Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) in Long Beach and Orange County, CA as well as a subject matter expert and faculty member of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program.
Additionally, Lynn has been an Adjunct Instructor in Business and International Business at Santa Ana College (SAC) since 2000. She has taught classes in business, marketing, and international business. Prior to teaching, she spent several years as Director of International Sales and Marketing for an environmental company and has had her own consulting firm where she assisted small companies in their international and domestic marketing endeavors. She holds an MBA with a global business specialty and is also a NASBITE Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP) and trainer.
Course/Student Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this course each student will demonstrate a detailed understanding of advertising and promotion. All students will benefit by acquiring detailed knowledge of advertising and promoting goods and services that will enhance their career.
