Instructor Kim Zumpfe Portrait

I am an artist, writer, and educator. I have been teaching Digital Photography at Santa Ana College since 2016, and have previously taught art classes at UC Irvine including Sculpture, Digital Design, and History of Digital Media. I hold an MFA in Art from the University of California, Irvine (2015) and a BFA in Sculptural & 4D Practices from California State University Long Beach (2011). I also holds a AA in Digital Animation from Glendale Community College. I have an active art practice in the United States and Internationally that engages with ideas of the body, land, and the future that is rooted in queer, feminist, and critical race theoretical concepts in art and performance. On a practical level, this means that I take really good cell phone photographs, make videos, do weird intimate performances, and build architectural structures in many locations with many lovely collaborators.
