Meet Your Instructor:

My name is Jacqueline, and I am thrilled to be your instructor! I am passionate about teaching, and I have been interested in art, music, and fashion since a young age. As a native of San Antonio, TX, I began pursuing my dreams of working in the fashion industry by attending community college near home to build a body of work and transfer credits to attend Parsons School of Design in New York City. After graduation from Parsons, I was fortunate to work for several small evening wear houses still practicing couture techniques, feeding a lifelong obsession with garment construction and sewing. Two designers that I have worked for -- Bibhu Mohapatra and Mathieu Mirano -- showed at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center! Other companies I have worked for include rag & bone and Ellen Tracy.

Though I am trained as a womenswear designer, my husband and I moved to San Diego, CA, where I worked as a Halloween costume designer for a couple of years. I designed and developed everything from LEGO to My Little Pony, from Minecraft to Disney Princess costumes, wigs, and accessories for men, women, children, and toddlers. A career highlight of mine includes when actor Channing Tatum wore the Nightmare Before Christmas Jack Skellington costume I designed for Halloween 2017.

Feel free to ask me about my experience -- I love helping students navigate their way around the fashion industry!
