FITNESS LOG

Each student will be required to exercise 2x a week for 30-60 minutes. As part of your fitness log you must count what we did in the class for each particular day and you can also list   the other workouts you did outside of class. You will record your workouts in your log and provide it to me during finals week.

(i.e. Date: 1/07/17, Exercise: Ran on treadmill  Time: 45 minutes, Heart Rate: 145, Other: I had issues with my tennis shoes so I could not walk as fast).

*If you are a beginner, it is recommended that you start exercising with caution and then slowly increase your workout to avoid any unnecessary injuries. Honesty is the best Policy!

Plank Challenge (15 Points Extra Credit):

The plank exercise is a great core body work out that strengthens your abdominals and overall body.

Each Student is given the option to complete the plank challenge during this course. You will perform planks in class and record each session. I suggest you make a column on your fitness log sheet. My recommendation for performing the plank would be to start out small (ie- 20’seconds first day and increase each session). Your goal is to reach TWO minutes in the plank position by the end of the class course. In order to get the full extra credit points, you MUST perform the 2 minute plank in class by Tuesday of Finals Week.

CLASS ATTIRE:  Appropriate and comfortable clothing you can wear for vigorous fitness activity.   An athletic shoe with good support is recommended.

  • Shorts/T-Shirts
  • Sweat Pants/Top
  • Shoes and Socks
  • Towel/Mat/Water

  • If you hurt yourself during class time, please let the instructor know immediately.
