Meet Your Instructor:  My name is Mark Sosebee.  I started in the automotive repair business at the age of 8.  Our family owned a repair facility in Garden Grove for 60 years before selling the business.  I started early on helping me dad and worked my way up the ladder to when we sold I was running the entire business along with my brother.  I hope to share with you much of my knowledge and experiences as you too enjoy being in an automotive atmosphere.

Course Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this course a student will be able to

1. Identify external engine components found on modern vehicles.

2. Describe the use of engine diagnostic equipment in problem solving.

3. measure engine compression, lead down and oil pressure.

4. identify the various types of cam drive systems in use on modern automobiles.

5. Discuss the causes and solutions of excessive engine smoke and leaks.

6. Compare the purpose and operation of turbochargers and superchargers.

7. List the required steps in performing a valve lash adjustment.

8. Analyze the results of engine electrical testing when performing a diagnosis.

9. Demonstrate the safe and correct completion of engine diagnostic and repair tasks as stated by ASE/NATEF.
