Course Description Microsoft Publisher & Office 365
Publisher is an easy-to-use program that guides you through the process of creating brochures, newsletters, invitations and flyers and business forms. Create professional looking documents without graphic design training. Microsoft Publisher version 2016 will be used. Incorporated into the class along with Microsoft Publisher you will explore Microsoft OneNote, Office 2016/365 and Windows 10. Although this class meets on campus you will be required to submit all of your assignments and testing online using the Canvas learning management system. 3 units.
Course Materials Textbook—Microsoft Office 365 & Publisher 2016, Comprehensive, Loose-leaf Version, 1st Edition. Shelly Cashman Series. Joy L. Starks, Cengage Learning,
ISBN# 9781305871205
Learning Outcomes Upon Completion of BA 160 students will be able to:
Create flyers, brochures, newsletters, tables, and other related business documents from scratch, templates and styles using Microsoft Publisher.
Attendance Online/No in-class meetings. A student may be dropped for nonattendance exceeding three times the number of hours a class meets per week. Under extenuating circumstances, a student may be reinstated by contacting the instructor and the Dean of Admissions and Records. Extenuating circumstances include verified cases of accident, illness, death in the family, or other conditions that are beyond the control of the student. A "W" (withdrawal) rather than a letter grade can be issued only to students dropping the class on or before the drop date on WebAdvisor. After the drop date on WebAdvisor, a letter grade must be issued. Students are responsible for officially withdrawing from classes they do not plan to complete.
Honesty Policy Students at Santa Ana College are expected to be honest and forthright in their academic endeavors. To falsify the results of one’s research, to steal the words or ideas of another, or to cheat on an examination, corrupts the essential process by which knowledge is advanced.
In cases where a violation of academic honesty is discovered, the faculty member is encouraged to file an “Academic Misconduct Incident Report” form and distribute the form to the appropriate offices listed.
There are two categories of sanctions: Limited and College-wide. Limited sanctions include an academic action such as assigning a lower grade or a grade of “F” for the assignment, project, or test. College-wide sanctions include any sanction that will affect a student’s standing with the college at-large, up to and including suspension or expulsion from the College.
Refer to the Academic Catalog for more information.
Online Assignments You are required to complete all assignments online using Canvas, as well as attend the on-campus class.
Accommodations for Disabilities Students with verifiable disabilities who want to request academic accommodations are responsible for notifying their instructor and Disabled Students Programs and Service (DSPS) by phone (714) 564-6260 or (714) 564-6384 (TDD for students that are deaf) or stop by the DSPS Center in U-103.
Assignments See Dates on the course calendar. All work is submitted through Canvas. No late work is accepted.
