Course Description: Laboratory experiments that address important concepts in biology, from molecules to ecosystem, and covering a wide range of subjects in between. This course complements lecture materials from Biology 109/109H.

Textbook Information: Required: Lopez, J. 2018. Fundamentals of Biology, 4thed. Argus Publishing.

Additional Course Information:  Field trip is required.

Student Learning Objectives:

By the end of this lab course, students will develop the following skills:

Reading and Writing(Communication Skills) 

  • Students will develop their ability to comprehend readings on biological subjects.
  • Students will learn basics of biology’s technical vocabulary.

Critical thinking(Thinking and Reasoning)

  • Students will develop their critical thinking skills by evaluating scientific evidences to draw thorough conclusions.
