Course Description: An introduction to conventional and REVIT CAD techniques in the relation of drawings for construction. Interpretation of details in construction drawings/blueprints and reference materials. Laboratory: Drafting plans for a residential building using the techniques introduced in the course. Includes ecological terms and concepts, BIM basics, and abbreviations.
Textbook Information: Architectural Drafting and Design, 5th Ed. by Alan Jefferis & David A. Madsen (low cost - used copies are available! The textbook CD is ok, but not needed.) This is an excellent book with many illustrations, concepts & terms we will cover.
Additional Course Information: No Pre-requisite! Low Cost used textbooks are available!
Course Learning Objectives: To complete beginning level AEC CAD drawing work using Revit and a little AutoCAD & to be able to demonstrate the current industry graphical communication methods and standards of architectural, civil, and construction engineering drafting.
Student Learning Objectives: To gain basic knowledge & skills needed for AEC CAD drawing work using Revit and a little AutoCAD.
