Course Description: Expository and argumentative essays and the research paper. Special interest sections described in schedule of classes. Students may be referred to the Learning Center.

Student Learning Objectives:
- Students will demonstrate proficiency in summarizing, paraphrasing, and analyzing texts.
- Students will demonstrate proficiency in supporting complex thesis statements with sufficient support.
- Students will demonstrate proficiency in using standard written English.
- Students will demonstrate proficiency in integrating and documenting appropriately chosen sources, in MLA format, in and academic research essay.
