Introduction to Sewing Syllabus
Course Description: Construction techniques for beginners with emphasis on learning how to use the sewing machine and reading a pattern. Students will construct simple drawstring pants, a simple messenger bag, and finished garment of the student’s choosing, and a compilation of construction techniques. Students will learn basic sewing techniques, how to select fabrics, and how to conduct fittings.

Student Learning Objectives: By the end of the semester, students will sew samples of various seam finishes, edge finishes, excess fabric construction techniques, and closure applications.
