Meet Your Instructor: Lenie Galima
Course Description:
Math 140 is a survey of advanced topics in algebra: equations, inequalities and functions involving polynomials, rationals, exponentials, and logarithms with applications and graphing; sequences and series.
Textbook Information:
We will be using an online course system (OHM/MyOpenMath) for content and homework which will require using the internet. The textbook and course materials are available to you at no cost, but you'll need a notebook for your work as well as a scientific calculator.
Additional Course Information:
Scientific Calculator
Graph Paper (required for all graphs on a rectangular coordinate system)
Student Learning Objectives:
By the end of the semester, students will be able to
- analyze the graphs of quadratic functions.
- analyze algebraic, logarithmic, and exponential functions by algebraic and graphical methods.
- to use appropriate theorems to determine critical information about zeros of, and to analyze graphs of, polynomial functions.
