Course Description: Structure of the human body is the focus; overall comprehension through memorization of structures as given in the lecture and laboratory outlines are the goal. Systems, organs and tissues are studied from human skeletons, models, charts and slides. Laboratory includes the dissection of the cat, sheep brain, bovine eye, and sheep heart.
Taking this course should also encourage and stimulate your development of:
1) communication skills
2) thinking and reasoning
3) information competency
4) career goals
5) create from within you a better citizen in your class, school, city . . . world!
Textbook Information: Human Anatomy & Physiology, 11th - older like the 10th ed., Marieb and Hoehn will do as well. Human anatomy hasn't changed in like 30,000 years, however the text is used for physiology and advances in learning with that content area has changed so for physiology's sake you'd need the latest.
Additional Course Information: The other two lab instructors are Arjun Nair Ph.D. and Shaptarupta Ray, Ph.D.
Please make sure you attend the lab into which you are enrolled ON-TIME or you will be dropped the first two weeks.
