Course Description:
 
This course is the first course in calculus.  The course includes various topics in mathematics, such as limits, continuity and applications of derivatives and integrals. Students are expected to use their prerequisite mathematics skills from Trigonometry (Math 162).



Textbook Information: 
Students will need access to Lumen OHM, an OER online assessment system.  Students will need access to Lumen OHM, an OER online assessment system.  Students can access the Lumen OHM website from this SAC Canvas website using the Assignments link.  This website will be using the OpenStax Calculus Volume 1 textbook, which can be downloaded from https://openstax.org/details/books/calculus-volume-1 (Links to an external site).
  Students should then begin on the homework  and Quiz #1.



Course Learning Objectives: 
Students will be able to evaluate limits and test functions for continuity, find derivatives and integrals of algebraic, trigonometric and other transcendental functions, and utilize derivatives and integrals in applications including extrema tests, related rates and finding areas.
