Course Description:

  • Math 185 is the second semester of three in the calculus and analytical geometry sequence.
  • Applications of integrals, including volumes, work, arc length, and surface area.
  • Integration techniques, differential equations, conics, parametric equations, polar coordinates, improper integrals, sequences and infinite series.

Student Learning Outcomes: By the end of the probability unit, students will be able to

  • Utilize various integration techniques in applications including finding volumes, work, arc length and surface area, solving differential equations and evaluating improper integrals.
  • Identify the conic sections and their properties, and perform calculus operations on polar and parametric curves, and determine the convergence of infinite sequences and series.
