Course Description:  We cover the fundamental legal principles that pertain to business transactions.  Introduction to the law as an instrument of social and political control in society. Topics include sources of law and ethics, contracts, torts, agency, judicial and administrative process, employment law, forms of business organizations, and domestic and international governmental regulations.

Course Learning Objectives:

As a class we will focus on developing skills to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing. Students who successfully complete this course will: 

  • Become acquainted with laws important in the business world.

  • Be aware of various legal and ethical problems in the world.

  • Have an appropriate legal background for the study of accounting finance, management, banking, insurance, and real estate.
