Course Description:  An examination of the origin, development, and organization of the juvenile justice system. Explores the theories that focus on juvenile law, court, and processes, and constitutional protections extended to juvenile within the US Justice System.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to:

• Discuss common theories of delinquency causation

• Articulate basic practices in the prevention and treatment of delinquency in juvenile

• Present general principles used in the Juvenile Justice System to address delinquency

• Understand the history, philosophy, and operation of the Juvenile Court

• Be familiar with the operation of the entire Juvenile Justice System
