Course Description:
Spanish102 is the continuation of the Spanish 101 course intended to develop communicative skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing through class lectures and technology applications. An access code is required for students to access all media and study tools to submit assignments. Students will engage in a variety of topics such as vacations, hobbies and recreations, health, professions, and news media. We will do our best to speak mostly Spanish in class so that you will immerse in the language.

Course Learning Objectives:
This course will focus on:
- Grammar structure review; preterite conjugation of regular and introduction of the irregular verbs.
- Acquisition of new vocabulary and grammatical concepts in the imperfect, future, conditional and subjunctive tenses. (simple and compound)
- Writing of short paragraphs in the target language.
- Communicative activities such as written dialogues to enhance oral capacity.
- The general learning of Hispanic culture.
Student Learning Objectives:
Upon successful completion of the Spanish 102 course, the student should be able to:
1. Demonstrate enhanced understanding of Spanish language grammar, vocabulary, idiomatic expressions, and the culture of Spanish speakers, and apply them to communicate orally at the beginning level designated topics in public and interpersonal situations.
2. Reinforce the basic skills previously learned in Spanish 101. Write compound sentences, integrate grammar, vocabulary, idiomatic expressions, and culture to communicate in writing at the beginning level.
3. Apply knowledge of vocabulary, grammar, idiomatic expressions, and culture to synthesize, analyze, evaluate and derive meaning of implicit and explicit communication in written material at the beginning level.
4. Apply improved knowledge of vocabulary, grammar, idiomatic expressions, and culture to recognize and comprehend spoken messages in Spanish at the beginning level.
