Course Description: Portable fire extinguishing equipment; protection systems for special hazards; sprinkler systems and fire detection and alarm systems. Units: 3 Prerequisite: Fire Technology 101 & 102
Student Learning Outcomes
- Identify fire detection, alarm, smoke management and monitoring systems, including their testing, maintenance, and operational requirements.
- Explain the application and operation and water-based, non-water based and portable fire suppression systems.
- Describe the design, use and maintenance of fire protection systems and the codes and standards that regulate them.
