Trip Logistics:
We will travel in college vehicles. Because of liability problems no private vehicles allowed.
It will be up to each individual/group to bring whatever food they desire for the weekend.
We will stop in Barstow for fast food on Friday night, so you have the option of buying dinner that night. You will need to bring food for all 3 meals on Saturday and breakfast and lunch on Sunday. We may also stop for dinner on Sunday evening, depending on the time.
Equipment: Please be complete but efficient in your packing. Our space in the vehicles will be limited. A soft, flexible container such as a duffel or backpack is preferred over a suitcase for your gear..
THINGS TO BRING
Clothing: Be prepared! It might be very hot or very cold or both.
Footwear: We will be walking several miles over rugged ground on this trip. Be sure you have boots or good walking shoes.
Sleeping Bag and Ground Cover. You may also wish to bring a tent, particularly if the weather is cold or wet.
Food: You are encouraged to prepare meals with others on the trip. Be sure to bring everything you will need as you will not be near any stores when camping .
Water: Bring at least 1 gallon, we will be able to refill containers.
Flashlight:
Sunscreen, Hat, and Sunglasses:
Personal Grooming Items: toothbrush, toothpaste, toilet paper, and anything else you might want or need. Hint: "Wash n Dry" type moist towels are great to have on a trip like this.
Optional Items: Camera, Folding Chair
Cash: We will divide up the camping fees and admission costs. The total should be less than $20 per person but varies from trip to trip.
THINGS NOT TO BRING
Radios, Tape players, "Boom Boxes", etc. However, if you have a musical instrument that you would like to play around the campfire you are encouraged to bring it along. An ipod or phone with headphones is fine when we are in the vans or camp, but not when we are hiking or looking at geology.
Pets
Drugs, Weapons and anything else that common sense should tell you not to bring
