Meet Your Instructor:
I teach Biology 109 lecture and Biology 109 lab at Santa Ana College. I am interested in increasing student success. I am an experienced Clinical Scientist and have worked at several local hospitals in the Medical Laboratory. I have taught various classes here at Santa Ana and also work in the Biology Study Center Monday and Wednesday at 9:00 am.
Course Description: Lab experiments to identify and illustrate organisms and their structures. Emphasis is on the relationship of all organisms from an anatomical, physiological and ecological framework. Content correlates to Biology 109 or 159 lecture material. Prerequisite: Biology 109 or 159 or concurrent enrollment.

Course Learning Objectives:
This is an introductory course focused on basic principles of biology and science. You will learn about cell biology, genetics, ecology, evolution, etc. This course is intended for students not majoring in biology.
Student Learning Objectives:
- Students will learn the basics of the technical vocabulary of biology
- Students will develop their ability to comprehend readings on biological subjects.
- Students will develop their critical thinking skills by evaluating scientific evidence to reach valid conclusions.
