SAC Logo             Spanish 101 Hybrid-Online

Course Description:  Spanish 101 employs a proficiency-oriented task based approach, designed to develop basic oral communicative abilities in Spanish.  In order to support these abilities, you will also be introduced to beginning grammar as well as speaking, reading, and writing skills.

Textbook Information:  Puntos de Partida with Connect Plus Vol. 1 (10th Edition) by Dorwick, et al.

Additional Course Information:  This is a Spanish Hybrid-Online course that has five MANDATORY in-class meetings.  The meetings are set for Friday, 8/31, 9/28, 10/19, 11/16, and 12/14 from 7:00-9:30 p.m. in SAC-D-302.

Students are required to register for the SAC Learning Center during the first week of classes on WebAdvisor in order to complete the Required Directed Learning Activities and meet with a tutor for assistance in the course.

  • Select 2018 FAN (academic support is non-credit)
  • Select Location CEC (all non-credit classes are CEC)
  • Enter Section Number 62858
  • Click Submit at bottom of page
  • Check Select by LRN 095
  • Submit
  • In Action box, select Register
  • Submit
  • Review your schedule
  • Click ok                                        

Course Learning Objectives:  Practice and integration of pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, common idioms, listening, speaking, reading, and writing techniques for the expression of ideas orally and in writing.  Introduction to Hispanic culture.

Student Learning Objectives:  Students will communicate effectively in Spanish at the beginning level while using basic vocabulary and applying simple grammatical structures.
