Meet Your Instructor:
Hey! My name is Vanessa Strodel Call. I have taught at SAC since Fall 2017, and I'm stoked to get to learn together this upcoming semester! Some fun facts about me are I'm obsessed with coffee (especially iced), I have three cats, a dog, and a snake, and I love to get outside!

Class Hours: 64 Lecture. Prerequisite: Grade of C or better in English N50 or qualifying profile from English placement process.
Sentence structure and paragraph writing including reading-based modeling and integrated study skills. Not applicable to associate degree. Students may be referred to the Learning Center.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

Students will be able to read critically for literal meaning and identify the main idea of a reading and the author's writing strategies.
- Students will use the writing process to write, in proper MLA format, well-organized, supported paragraphs or short essays using appropriately chosen details, sentence variety, and sufficiently correct grammar and punctuation.
