Course Description:   This is a general health course with emphasis on physical and mental health through proper care of the body.  The class will emphasize fitness, nutrition, alcohol, tobacco products, drug use and abuse, AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases, and degenerative diseases.

This book is mandatory and it is your main source of information for this class! You will be reading the text every week, quizzes, the midterm and final are based on these readings. Participation:

Students who do not access Canvas by the end of the first week will be issued a “no show” drop. It is the student’s responsibility to drop the course should they no longer wish to complete the class. All students still registered by the last drop date will be issued a grade based on their completed work.

Academic Honesty:

All students are required to complete their own work. Claiming credit for work done by others is considered cheating. There is not tolerance in this course for cheating. All students caught cheating will be given an F for that assignment. A second act of cheating will result in an F grade for that assignment.

Plagiarism will not be tolerated. When using other sources to complete assignments make sure to reference them appropriately
