CMPR 100 Syllabus
Course Description:
This course is an introduction to the area of computers and their relationship to today's information society. We will cover a broad overview of topics including hardware, software, networking, information technology, and the Internet. The student will explore the implication and effect of technology on society, careers, and ethics. In addition, the student will become familiar with word processing, presentation, spreadsheet, and database management system software.

Student Learning Objectives:
- Develop problem-solving skills employing pattern recognition, transfer of learning and the ability to evaluate choices among solution techniques.
- Recognize when additional information is needed and obtain that material through researching outside sources.
Meet Your Instructor: Becky Hester
Becky Hester has taught for Santa Ana College off and on as an adjunct faculty member since 2012. Becky received a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science and Masters of Science from California State University, Fullerton in 1996 and 1999 respectively. Since completing her Bachelors degree, Becky has enjoyed a successful career as a senior software engineer for the past 20 years. When not working, Becky pursues many activities which include: dancing, reading, knitting, and photography.
