Meet Your Instructor:

I had a long and successful career in the fashion industry following my graduation from California State University, Long Beach with a degree in Textiles and Clothing. I used that industry experience to build my own Wardrobe Consultation and styling business one closet and one client at a time.  Subsequently, I was recruited by Saks Fifth Avenue to work as a personal shopper in their exclusive 5th Avenue Club.

When I sent my kids to college, I too returned to college and completed my Master’s Degree, in Family and Consumer Science education. I began my  teaching career at both Palomar and Mesa Colleges, teaching Fashion and Family and Consumer Science classes and now I am enjoying teaching Fashion at Santa Ana College too!

As an instructor I have received numerous awards and accolades including a CA-AFCS research grant that resulted in a Web page that lists all of the North San Diego County fashion businesses that are resources for fashion program internships.I was also asked to present online teaching workshops for both the San Diego Community College District and the International Textile and Apparel Association. In 2012, I was honored to receive The American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences New Achiever Award. I stay current with the fashion  Industry by attending the MAGIC trade show each year and various conferences.
