Course Description:
An introduction to fundamental principles and practices of circuit training including: safety, using cardiovascular and resistance machines, and components of exercise. This course provides the basics of a comprehensive exercise program that combines cardiovascular exercises with strength training.
Course Learning Objectives:
1- Students will become competent on how to use the facility, and equipment, safely and appropriately.
2- Students will demonstrate competence in identifying the components of fitness.
3- Students will learn to identify muscle groups targeted by each machine and exercise.
4- Students will demonstrate competence in measuring the intensity of work outs and how to increase that intensity as their physical fitness increases.
5- Students will learn the history of Physical activity.
6- Students will learn how circuit training leads to disease prevention and health promotion.
Student Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate competence in circuit training techniques.
- Apply the FITT principle to circuit training for health benefits and lifelong learning.
