Course Description:
An individualized fitness program developed to promote lifetime fitness. Employs a combination of cardiovascular machines (treadmill, steppers, bicycles, elliptical, rower, etc.), and resistance machines. This course is designed as a continuation of Intermediate Circuit Training and promotes increased cardiovascular and muscular endurance. Educates students on the principles of nutrition and the body’s adaptation to exercise.
Course Learning Objectives:
1- Students will demonstrate competence in how to properly use the facility to ensure safety.
2- Students will demonstrate competence in identifying the relationship between Nutrition and exercise.
3- Students will demonstrate competence in identifying the physiological adaptations to exercise.
4- Students will demonstrate proficiency in appropriately increasing the intensity level of their work outs to meet their fitness needs.
5- students will demonstrate proficiency in comparing and constructing different theories of circuit training.
6- Students will demonstrate competence in designing their own exercise program to maintain lifetime fitness.
Student Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate competence in circuit training techniques.
- Apply the FITT principle to circuit training for health benefits and lifelong learning.
