Course Description:
A continuation of exercise principles and practices of circuit training covered in Beginning Circuit Training. This course is designed to help students increase cardiovascular conditioning using a combination of resistive strength exercises and endurance training.
Course Learning Objectives:
1- Students will demonstrate competence in operating the facility in an efficient and safe manner.
2- Students will demonstrate competence in identifying small vs large muscles and how to train each muscle group.
3- Students will demonstrate competence in differentiating between aerobic vs anaerobic conditioning.
4- Students will demonstrate competence in completing the proper warm-up, work to rest ratio and cool down of circuit training.
5- Students will demonstrate competence in appropriately increasing the intensity of their work outs to meet their desired fitness level.
6- Students will learn how physical activity relates to disease prevention and health promotion.
Student Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate competence in circuit training techniques.
- Apply the FITT principle to circuit training for health benefits and lifelong learning.
