Course Description:
This course is a comprehensive study of neurogenic communication disorders. Topics will include a holistic narrative of disorders such as aphasia, right hemisphere syndrome, traumatic brain injury, and dementia. It is a required course for the AA degree in the Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) program.

Student Learning Objectives:
- Students will learn about specific speech, language and hearing disorders that are experienced by adult and geriatric populations.

- Students will become aware of assessment tools that can be used to diagnose acquired communication disorders in adults.
