This week we will be looking at the transformation of Europe in the 16th-18th centuries. This tumultuous time period broke down previous institutions and built the foundation of modern Europe. From religious and political transformations to social movements, Europe looked very different at the dawn of the 1800s than it had in 1500. Your course documents this week ask you to look at the German Peasants' Revolt/German Peasants' War which was a social and political movement that found its origins in Martin Luther's Protestant Reformation. Consider the two sources and the contrasting opinions they present about the Peasants' Revolt.
