In this section you will learn about the differences between form and content and be introduced to the basic elements of art and principles of design. All of these concepts are integral to formalism, which is a method of studying artwork by analyzing and describing it in purely in terms of visual characteristics (as opposed to an artwork's meaning or message).

There are two Discussions in this Module that will take you some time to complete, so please don't wait until the last minute to work on them!
