This week you will not need to come to class. All assignment will be completed outside of the classroom (at home, if you like). Here is what to do:

1. Watch the ROV video (this is a Powerpoint I present to you), and take notes in the Notes section of your class notebook.

2. Read "Give Kids the Right to Vote" by Vita Wallace (page 82 in Supplemental Reading Packet). Then complete the posted questions and submit them to me online by Friday, March 29 at 11:59 PM.

3. Read "Death and Justice: How Capital Punishment Affirms Life” by Ed Koch (page 60, Supplemental Reading Packet) and answer the posted questions in the Homework section of your notebook.

4. Read "Are Electric Cars Good for the Environment" handout and watch the accompanying video. Then in your notebook, under the "journal topics" section, write "Journal #3, Electric Cars" and then write 3/4 of a page on your response to the topic.

5. Complete Current Event #8 (actually, it is #7 since we skipped one, but on syllabus, it is listed as #8). The topic is "editorial," which means you can find a recent editorial (opinion piece) in a newspaper or news website and use that. Follow posted current event format. This is also due by Friday, March 30 at 11:59 PM.

6. Last, look at the powerpoint that presents the format for Essay #2. When you come to class on 4/9, please bring a typed sheet that has a position on a topic (a claim) and then three opposing arguments to your position. This will be the basis for your Essay #2.
